The Shine Foundation was founded by Mrs. D. in 2023, and she now serves as Executive Director. In her early years, Mrs. D. grew up in Germany as one of seven children. In the midst of loss and subsequent trauma, her spiritual connections sustained her through difficult times. Early on, she began traveling the world as a backpacker, gathering wisdom from other cultures and backgrounds.

As a young adult, she moved to Hawaii and later to Colorado, California, Costa Rica, and ultimately New Jersey, where she currently resides.

Having faced health challenges throughout her life, Mrs. D. was inspired to help and heal not only herself, but others. After training and becoming certified in a wide range of holistic healing modalities, her passion for supporting people, especially children and teens, recovering from trauma, grew even stronger. She was determined to facilitate the recovery and healing journey of survivors, starting with providing financial resources to meet their most basic needs such as food, healthcare, safety and shelter.
